OK clearly I have been neglecting my blog again! I have had all sorts of classes going on – Sorry!!
Anyway, I had a lovely morning this morning with two lovely ladies and one handsome chap making Christmas Curl Wreaths. I think it is nice for new mums to get out and about in child friendly (ish – lol) environments so was more than happy for the ladies to craft whilst I was there to lend a hand with instruction and do the childcare of gorgeous wee Lochy-Roo – who is a fantastic model of our part completed wreaths!
After a couple of hours of trimming and curling both Fran and Lynda had themselves a beautiful Christmas Curl Wreath:
and Lochy Roo had found himself a box!
I know what he will be getting for Christmas!!!
I will be doing a Valentine’s Curl Wreath in January so if you are interested in attending a class please comment below or get in touch via my facebook page. I plan for there to be both an evening and daytime class available and the new Valentine’s papers coming out in January are STUNNING! Can’t wait until I can share them with you. Kits with full instructions are also available to buy if you are interested. 🙂
Picture the scene! Deserted hubby and daughter at the Christmas decorations in B&Q this afternoon whilst I went off in search of a base for my wreath! Half an hour later I reappeared to incredulous looks with an 8’x4′ sheet of roof insulation!!! We had to break it into a few pieces to get it into the car, but eventually got home and after a bit of hacking with a breadknife and a lot of paper curling (with no Paper Cuts I might add – go me!!) the result was this:
I will be making a wreath similar to this – in more Christmassy colours – in the run up to Christmas so please let me know if you are interested. This is rather large and so the cost of materials and class will be £25 – however a smaller cheaper version will also be on offer once I have worked out just how much paper it will use up!!
Hope you love it and let me know if you want to come and craft a wreath!
The Stampin’ Up Christmas Ornament on the front cover of the Autumn Winter Mini got everyone excited when we got our first glimpse of the new quarterly seasonal catalogue. Frustration followed when we realised the items to make it were not on the Demonstrator’s Pre-Order list! ARGH! However it was certainly worth the wait. I just wish Stampin’ Up would being out the tulle ribbon in different colours so we could make these in every colour under the sun!
Here it is made in pretty purples – I saw this combination of colours done in one of super amazing demo Suzette’s classes from http://www.simosihlecrafts.co.uk/ . It is such a pretty colour combination for Christmas.
We will be making this ornament at my next Dunfermline class, which will be on Sunday, 18th November at 7.30pm. Drop me a message on if you are interested in coming to make one with us.
Crafty Festive Love
I had a lovely evening with three delightful ladies – Natalie, Shirley & Alison who joined me for their first ever crafting endeavours! They all went home with marvellous results!
We started with a card using Stampin’ Up Stamp set Jolly Bingo Bits, using the lovely new Midnight Muse and Raspberry Ripple, with a spot of Pool Party thrown in for good measure. Are these not fairly impressive for a very first crafting attempt???
We then made a candle using the Snowflake Soiree set and added a bit of bling:
And finished off with 4 gift tags using Jolly bingo Bits again. Not a bad way to spend two hours on a Thursday night?
I hope they are all looking forward to their next class on the 29th November where we will be concentrating on my specialist subject: glitter, embossing and all things bling! We probably have room for maybe one or two more people in this monthly Thursday class, so drop me a line if you are interested.
Having been AWOL for a few weeks, I’ve been quite busy preparing things for my first crafting class on Thursday. I have three lovely ladies coming along who I am dying to meet and get crafty with. One of the sets we will be using in the class is Snowflake Soiree and I have been trying to make different cards to show the versatility of the set.
The set comes with two sentiments ‘Believe’ and ‘Merry’ and if you are clever about colouring in, you can use the Be from Believe so you can have Be Merry! I love the word Believe – firstly it is beautifully crafted but also it can apply to almost everyone whether you believe in God or Father Christmas or have some other belief – you have to believe in something! I believe in Snow! I believe we will have lots of it this year! 😀 Anyway enough chat – here are some of the things I have been up to!
I love the new Midnight Muse and Iridescent ice embossing powder and used a brayer (a big hard paint roller) to add the colour to this card. Apologies for all of the bling. Whilst a lot of the Pink Ladies and lads were at the Stampin Up Convention in Germany those left at home had a little awards ceremony and I was challenged to make something very bling and sparkly. This has 4 different glitters going on!
And another card using the same set along with the new snowflake embossing folder and some frayed Crumb Cake Seam binding ribbon. I also used colour spritzing on this card, which I love..though I don’t feel there is much evidence of ‘less is more’!!! At least there is no glitter in sight! 😉
Finally I have been stamping candles and am looking forward to making a candle as well as a card and some gift tags at my class on Thursday with my lovely ladies. Here is what we will be making:
My classes at the moment take place on Thursdays and Sundays and introductory lessons are just £10 wih all materials provided so please get in touch if you are interested. There are also some fabulous offers for Party Hostesses at the moment including an entire ink set (after a qualifying spend) so if you fancy a crafting session in your own home with your friends., please get in touch.
I’ve not met a young child yet who does not love the Very Hungry Caterpillar and so it is a great theme for a young child’s birthday card.
Here is what I did to make this © Stampin’ Up card!
I was a bit short on sunny colours (must address that with my next order!! 😉 ) so stamped tangerine Tango on to More Mustard card stock. cut the circle using the 2.5 inch punch and the rays just randomly with my trimmer. I embossed the number two from the memorable Moments set with Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder – so pleased they added a number stamp set in this year’s catalogue! 🙂
I tore some chocolate chip cardstock and distressed it to make the mud.
Cutting an inch of Garden Green Card I embossed little hearts on it from the Adorning Accents Folders and cut little circles using the 3/4 inch punch. A Riding Hood Red 3/4 inch circle makes the face and I used some scraps and the owl builder punch to make the eyes. I drew the little boots, anntennae and mouth by hand but hope to add Bug me to my stash in the near future which has the cutest little caterpillar boots stamp in the world!! Must add that to the Christmas List!!
Finally my one big juicy green leaf was cut with my Big Shot using an Autumn Leaves Die and embossed, again with Cherry Cobbler and the Happy Birthday Sentiment from Curly Cute.
Stick it all on a bit of Bashful Blue cardstock with the Tombo Multi Glue and voila – a Very hungry Caterpillar Card to please the most discermning of toddlers – at least I hope so!!!
If you are interested in purchasing any products used to make this card, please let me know! Card Classes start in November and there are a few place still available!
YAY It is here! The new Stampin’ Up Annual Catalogue! Out go some old lovely sets but in come some fantastic ones!!
I love the new butterfly set Papillon Potpourri with matching punch so there is no fiddly cutting to worry about. These will be so beautiful.
And I also love A fitting occasion – so much versatility and great value for money with 24 stamps.
To launch the new catalogue Stampin’ Up are offering a fantastic deal for new demonstrators with a free pack of designer paper every month for 6 months. Essentially you would be getting a starter kit worth £235 for £99. And the new designer papers are seriously to die for! Floral District and Summer Smooches are gorgeous to name but a few.
If you want more information on joining my Stampin’ Up team and becoming a Pink Lady or Lad, please get in touch as now is definitely the time to do it!
